Happy Gremlin

my own Happiness Project, as inspired by Gretchen Rubin's Happiness Project, Pace and Kyeli's 52 Weeks to Awesome, and various other happy freakstuff.
i also post about gender rights and my genderqueer self over at my other Tumblr.

Google's answer to Apple's "Siri" is code-named "Majel," after Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, wife of "Star Trek" creator Gene and who provided the computer voice for every TV and movie iteration of "Trek." →

I need to reblog this just to say when i learned about Siri, i started thinking about what i would name a digital personal assistant if i had a choice in the matter, and Majel was the one and only name to come to mind.

He’s a doctor, dammit!

WAIT WAIT WAIT. if you can’t confuse a Starfleet doctor and a bartender, then what was the deal with Dr. Boyce in ‘The Cage’?

30 Days of Happiness, Day 2: A Quote that makes you smile

Nichelle: There were these two little girls, around nine years old. When Star Trek first came on. And one of them told me years later, ‘I looked on television, and I saw you, I saw this black lady, and I ran through the house saying, Come quick come quick! There’s a black lady on television and she ain’t no maid!’ And she said, ‘I knew right then and there that I could be anyone I wanted to be, I could do anything I wanted.’ And so she became a superstar. And her name is Whoopi Goldberg.
